About the Event
Thermowall is a technical competition designed to test students’ understanding of thermal conductivity. Participants will prepare a wall of specified dimensions using either a single material or a composite material. The wall will be tested in a closed chamber under a thermal load to determine its heat resistance. Awards will be given to participants whose walls achieve the lowest temperature difference.
Event Rules
Wall Specifications
- Dimensions: 30 cm × 21 cm
- Material: Single or composite material
- Maximum Thickness: 10 mm
Testing Procedure
- Preparation: Participants must bring only the prepared wall to the event (fabricated by themselves).
- Testing Setup: The wall will be placed inside a closed chamber. A thermal load will be applied to one side.
- Temperature Measurement: After 1 minute (for temperature stabilization), the temperature on both sides will be recorded. Data will be handed over to the participant immediately after testing.
Evaluation Criteria
- Primary: Lowest temperature difference across the wall.
