About the Event

The “Junk Yard” competition is a creative, hands-on event where teams will be provided with junk material (scrap mechanical parts, waste items, etc.) and asked to build a working or functional prototype/model.

Event Rules

Team Size: Minimum 2 & Maximum 4 members
Material Provided: Assorted scrap and basic tools, & Available machines
Judging Criteria: Creativity, Utility,  Presentation, And Teamwork

Participants CAN bring their specific components, like:
- Motors
- Motor Attachments
- Mechanical mechanisms
- Electronic components
- Specialized tools… etc.

However, participants must use only the equipment and machines provided at the time of the event. No external machines or workshop equipment will be accepted.

Judging Criteria: Creativity, Utility, Working Mechanism, Presentation, And Teamwork

CLARIFIED RULES:
• Bring your own: Motors, attachments, mechanisms, small components
• Use from the event: All scrap materials, workshop machines, tools, equipment
• No external workshop equipment or machines allowed beyond what organizers provide
 

1. Strict Material Policy:

  • Clearly stated that participants can ONLY use scrap materials provided by organizers
  • Explicitly mentioned "No additional materials will be provided from the workshop."
  • Emphasized that no external materials, parts, or components are allowed

2. Workshop Machine Limitations:

  • Added a clear policy that only available/limited machines in the workshop can be used
  • Stated that "No additional machines or equipment demands will be accepted."
  • Included "Machine availability is on a first-come, first-served basis

 3. Enhanced Resource Constraints:

  • Emphasized that teams must adapt their designs based on available workshop capabilities
  • Added that innovation in using limited resources will be highly rewarded
  • Made resourcefulness and adaptability key evaluation factors

4. Additional Clarifications:

  • Teams must work entirely within the constraints of allocated materials
  • Safety protocols must be followed while using workshop machines
  • No special equipment requests will be entertained

Note: The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules, as they deem fit. Some of the rules of the event will be told on the spot
